Meet Heather

Registered Dental Assistant (R.D.A.)

Born and raised in Petaluma, Heather has been part of Novato Children’s Dentistry since her very first steps into the dental field. While studying at the College of Marin Dental Assisting Program in 2016, she began an internship at Dr. Espinosa’s office and quickly discovered her passion for pediatric dentistry. Her natural ability to connect with children — from teaching healthy habits to guiding them through appointments with kindness and calm — made her an instant fit for our team.

After graduating, Heather joined us full-time as Dr. Espinosa’s lead assistant and soon became an indispensable part of the practice. Her dedication, skill, and organizational talent earned her the role of managing all patient accounts and insurance from her home office after welcoming her second child — yet she still steps in to assist clinically when needed. Whether behind the scenes or in the operatory, Heather is the backbone of our office operations and truly Dr. Espinosa’s right-hand partner in creating seamless, compassionate patient care.

Heather and her husband, Brian — a local firefighter — are raising their two children, Wyatt and Aubrey, with the same warmth and dedication she brings to our team. In her free time, Heather loves watching her kids grow, cooking for family and friends, and taking on creative DIY projects both at home and in the office.

We are endlessly grateful for Heather’s loyalty, versatility, and heart. She doesn’t just wear many hats — she makes our entire practice run with a steady hand and a smile.

Meet Icelya

Dental Assistant (D.A)

Icelya was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California, where she still lives close to her family. She began her dental career in a busy multi-doctor adult practice, but quickly discovered her true passion when she joined Dr. Espinosa and the team at Novato Children’s Dentistry. Working with children has given Icelya the opportunity to combine her clinical skills with her natural warmth and ability to make young patients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident about their smiles. She especially enjoys teaching children the “why” and “how” of great oral health habits, helping them take ownership of their dental care in a fun, encouraging way.

Outside the office, Icelya is a devoted mom to two energetic and loving daughters, Aubriella and Khaleasi, both born in 2018. Whether it’s movie nights, afternoons at the park, or cheering from the sidelines as a proud “cheer mom,” she treasures every moment with her girls. She also takes pride in applying the pediatric dental knowledge she’s gained at the office to her own family life — seeing firsthand how education and encouragement can make dental care a positive experience for kids.

As our main in-office dental assistant, Icelya plays a vital role in ensuring Novato Children’s Dentistry runs smoothly and that every patient visit is positive and well-coordinated. Her dedication, warmth, and eagerness to grow with the practice make her an invaluable member of our team and a true asset to our patients and their families.

Meet Victoria

FOA

Victoria joined our pediatric dental team with enthusiasm and quickly became the welcoming face and friendly voice of our practice. She ensures every family feels cared for from the very first phone call to the moment they walk out the door, handling scheduling and office communications with kindness, efficiency, and a genuine smile.

Born and raised in Guatemala until moving to the U.S. in 2005, Victoria is a proud native Spanish speaker. She plays an essential role in helping Novato Children’s Dentistry connect with our Hispanic families, ensuring that every parent feels heard and every child’s needs are clearly understood.

When she’s not at the front desk, Victoria loves nothing more than spending time with her loving Husband, their two beautiful energetic boys, and their extended family. She finds joy in the great outdoors—whether hiking, biking, or camping—and equally cherishes peaceful walks with the family dog, Kika, where she can slow down and savor life’s quiet moments.

Meet Nancy

DA

Nancy joins our team as a supporting dental assistant. She plays an essential role in keeping our practice running smoothly - welcoming patients from our relaxing waiting room, helping them get settled, assisting our dentists with charting, disinfecting rooms, maintaining proper sterilization, and stepping in to help during procedures whenever needed. Nancy is also our dedicated dental assistant for visits in our new Infant Room, where her gentle nature shines.

We’re so grateful to have Nancy at Novato Children’s Dentistry—her positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed help us maintain an excellent flow of care for every patient. Growing up in Novato and now living in Petaluma, Nancy loves returning to her hometown each day. Outside of work, she enjoys photography, gardening, and taking her dogs on beach adventures.
