Meet Heather
Born and raised in Petaluma, Heather chose to stay local and attended the College of Marin Dental Assisting program in 2016. Heather always knew that she had a passion for working with children and wanted to find a job that would allow her to work closely with kids, helping them with their hygiene and educating them on everything she learned in the Dental Assisting Program.
During her study at the College of Marin, Heather started an internship at Dr. Espinosa’s office and quickly made herself an indispensable member of the team. Heather then joined the team full-time as Dr. Espinosa’s lead assistant shortly after her graduation and quickly recognized her passion and ability to connect with the children in regards to hygiene education, cavity prevention, and behavior management.
Since joining our team, Heather and her husband Brian have welcomed two children into their family, a son, Wyatt, and a daughter, Aubrey, and they instantly became the light of their life's. In her free time, Heather enjoys spending quality time watching her fast-growing children and cooking for her loved ones. Heather loves to tackle DIY projects both in the office and at home.
For the past year sense welcoming her daughter, Heather has started working from home managing all the billing and insurance. Heather has been an amazing addition to our team and always diligent care to guide and educate the children during their visits. Heather has been vital to keeping the office organized and running smoothly since her first days with Dr. Espinosa. Heather may wear many hats around the office, but one thing is for sure – she will always have a home at Novato Children's Dentistry.
Meet Tina
Born and raised in the picturesque town of Sonoma, Tina was always a busy, active individual, who loved playing sports and the thrill of riding horses. Tina's educational journey began at SRJC, where she spent two formative years honing her skills and knowledge.
Shortly thereafter, Tina became deeply involved in her family's business, a cherished butcher shop, gaining invaluable experience and a profound appreciation for working with people. It was during this time that she welcomed her son into the world in 2001, and for the next seven years, Tina wholeheartedly embraced the role of a stay-at-home mom, nurturing and guiding her son, Tyler, during his early years. However, she also recognized the importance of maintaining a career, and during the hours when Tyler was at school, Tina pursued a profession as an Esthetician, helping people look and feel their best.
In 2004, life took Tina to Chico, where she explored new horizons and experienced a change of pace. But her heart remained tied to Sonoma, and in September of 2020, Tina made the joyful return to be closer to her family and friends.
Tina's passions in life are deeply rooted in the well-being of children, a strong sense of family, and the joy of spending time with friends outdoors. These passions have shaped her life's path, leading her to where she is today.
She considers herself immensely blessed to have found a new calling in July at Novato Children's Dentistry, where she has the privilege of working alongside our team, providing care and support to families.
Meet Icelya
Icelya was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California, where she currently resides close to her family. She started her dental experience in a multi-doctor adult dental practice, but really found her calling when she came to work with Dr. Espinosa here at Novato Children’s Dentistry. Icelya truly enjoys not only being of service and creating a pleasant atmosphere for our young patients, but also educating them on how to take care of their teeth and oral health.
Outside of the office, Icelya is a wonderful mother to two beautiful girls, Aubriella and Khaleasi, who were both born in 2018. Together they enjoy quality time during girl’s nights, going to the movies, and playing in parks. Icelya recently became a cheer mom as the girls have fallen in love with cheerleading for youth sports. Since Icelya started working in our pediatric dental practice, she loves taking home the specialized oral health knowledge that she has learned through Dr. Espinosa and implementing it with her girls. She not only practices at home what she preaches at work as she has seen the difference in her girls’ attitudes towards their oral health and hygiene habits.
Icelya is an integral part of our team here at Novato Children’s Dentistry. She sees herself growing with the office for years to come and we are excited to have her as our main in-office dental assistant!
